This is a generative self-playing modular setup driven mainly by the Pioneer Squid sequencer running at 30bpm.
Makes heavy use of the probability and random note functions through quantised scale settings. The goal was to make a generative ambient soundscape using short random sequences that are constantly changing, creating complex harmonies. The overall sound evolves with simple manual tweaks, it never repeats exactly the same way.
Music Thing Turing Machine sends random notes to be quantized by the WMD Arpitecht, into Mutable Instruments Rings, then the small wind-chimey sounds go through the Strymon Magneto tape delay.
Make Noise Telharmonic plays a simple bass drone, into the Make Noise MMG Filter which is controlled by an ADSR envelope and finally the Erbe Verb.
4MS Spectral Multiband Resonator plays 4-note chords sequenced by the Squid, into the Roland Torcido (configured as a LP filter) and out through a Lexicon MX200 rack FX for delay and reverb Recorded as 4 stereo stems through a Roland Octacapture Audio Interface Compression and EQ in Ableton
